One of my all time favourite albums. I'm in my mid forties and I first heard this album back when my parents bought the vinyl in '73 or '74. A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night, an Album by Harry Nilsson.

As technology improved I bought the CD and now I've downloaded it onto my Kindle HD because I never tire of hearing it and I would hate to not have it once CD's go out of fashion. I gave it four stars because of Harry Nilsson and because in this version they have an additional 6 bonus tracks which are worth hearing.

A Little Touch Of Schmilsson In The Night Makin' Whoopee!' The Bonus selections make this a sad, but beautiful tribute to songs that never die, and an epitaph to a genius who did not even know how to sing with a live orchestra and conductor, but pulled it off as every weird project he attempted did! As Time Goes By and I'm Always Chasing Rainbows are just sublime classics. And considering Nilsson's untimely passing, the album also takes on an enormous sense of poignancy.

Long lost, this is perhaps the most pure Nilsson you will ever own! Fantastic songs, brilliant arrangements, superb orchestra and the dulcet tones of Harry Nilsson. The other unexpected bonus was having other CD's that I had bought previously downloaded free of charge.. His rendering of some of the 'oldies but goodies' is quite touching and provides excellent background music for those late dinner- for- two nights. Gorgeous!

Loving the music his long lost father, and loving mother surrounded him with, Harry set out to perform with the best arranger/conductor Gordon Jenkins, and to sing tunes he admired, with an unintended purity that only 40 years later, makes total sense.
