This is a lovely, small zoo beautifully located on scenic Lake Michigan. The lively beach life will transport you and the white sand beach may cause you to forget that you're basically in downtown Racine. Beach was clean, water great and the waves fun. Simmons Island Beach has become more accessible to people with disabilities, with the addition of portable mobility mats on the sand. There is also a beach and fishing area along the lake for hours of underwater and above water fun. This is a public Lake Michigan beach with a boardwalk - located near a paved bike trail.
