The ferry was one of the main links between the eastern and western shores of the Bay prior to the opening of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in 1952. Everyone was very friendly, so you don't have to stress if your dog is OK going up to others, etc.This was our first time and I can't wait to go back.Positives: Very low traffic with plenty of friendly people and well behaved dogs.
