Peanuts in the southeast corner of the district were in good to fair condition. Irrigation applications were active on cotton, cucumbers and corn. Showers have also slowed hay production. Early season corn looked promising, but late-planted fields needed rain badly. South Texas, from near Houston to Del Rio southwards, has been in drought conditions since the fall of 2019.
