This is the first 2 beach boys albums on 1 CD with 3 bonus tracks. "Chug-A-Lug" is a little silly as well, but it is better than "Ten Little Indians," and it is a song about guys chasing girls comparing what they have under the hood of their cars, and naturally heading up to the root-beer stand and gulpin' the carbonated beverage. Surfin' Safari is the Beach Boys first album, but it perfectly encapsulates the image of California (at least as perceived by this reviewer). I PURCHASED THIS TO HEAR JUST HOW THE BEACH BOYS SOUNDED IN WHAT I CALL (GLIBLY!
I love "409," one of the many racing car songs the Beach Boys would record, which would also influence the then folkier Jan and Dean to expand their horizons in short order.
The Beach Boys were a popular American rock band founded in 1961 at Hawthorne, California.
2 I truly take my passion for hearing music seriously, and I seriously enjoy the fun sound of the Beach Boys, especially when day-dreaming of my kid days while stuck in traffic going to or from work. The instrumentals are "Let's Go Trippin'" a cover of Dick Dale and the Del-Tones' famous instrumental from circa 1961; there is also Bill Doggett's "Honky Tonk." There is off course the microscopic drum sound and Mike Love's nasal vocals to contend with.An enjoyable debut album followed by a less than mediocre one My CD sits on the player in my garage at the moment. Includes Album Cover, Release Year, and User Reviews.
Too bad time passed so quickly.

99. I will admit that I find "Ten Little Indians" a little too silly for my tastes, but I do like the music and harmony. It's a quality collection of not just a piece of beach boy's history but a piece of music history itself with the Beach boys being the 1st major surf band to make it.
I used to buy their LP's in the 60's and saw them when they came to Manchester on a rare visit.

Beach Boys originally recorded Surfin' U.S.A. written by Chuck Berry and Brian Wilson and Beach Boys released it on the single Surfin' U.S.A. in 1963. The rudimentary nature of the vocal harmonies complements the subject matter of the songs: fun, girls, cars, surf, and cuckoos. I also enjoy the cover of "Misirlou", but that's really it aside from those 3 Beach Boys original highlights. Please try againSorry, we failed to record your vote. Pour un début Surfin' Safari tient déjà bien la vague mais les garçons de la plage n'ont pas encore atteint leur rythme de croisière. The surprise here is that the first album Surfin Safari (Oct 1962) of which might expect little, is so solid, and as good as most early Beach Boys albums and better than several. I really love vibing and cruising to this two-fer. The Beach Boys also create their own instrumentals like "Surf Jam," which is guitar-driving, adrenaline pumping fun. Get it as soon as Tue, Aug 11. I had 2 reasons for buying this.
The second album Surfin USA (Mar 63) (12 Tracks, 25 mins long, 9 originals and 3 covers) Side one is hot, shaping up to be on a par with the early Beatle albums. The instrumentals are "Let's Go Trippin'" a cover of Dick Dale and the Del-Tones' famous instrumental from circa 1961; there is also Bill Doggett's "Honky Tonk."
The Beach Boys / All Summer Long And 409 is now the ringer on my cell phone. These remastered (in stereo only) two albums on one CD sets seemed like the way to go for me, so I ordered ALL of the 1960's albums via these collections.
