He is a founding member of UK Critical Care Genomics group that undertook one of the first genome-wide association studies in sepsis and is exploring gene expression signatures to identify important subgroups (endotypes) in sepsis. He is Chair of the NIHR Critical Care Experimental Medicine group helping to deliver early phase clinical trials in critical care. Professor Anthony Gordon is the Chair in Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Imperial College and is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine based at St Mary's Hospital.He received his medical degree from St Bartholomew’s Medical School in 1993 and then undertook his postgraduate medical training across the North Thames regions with an additional year spent at The Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
