Bah. I thought it would be a mediocre or generic alternative rock album but it really is special. This also has pretty good lyrics; it's great summer music; great driving music.

Gail Greenwood’s video was assembled primarily from video shot by the band on “Vintage” Hi8 footage in May/June of 1993 during Belly’s Pacific Rim tour promoting “Star” with a UK visit to perform at the Great Xpectations Festival at Finsbury Park and on the BBC TV show … Anyways, this album is one of my all time favorites, I’ve been spinning my vinyl and cd copy (included) constantly since I recieved it. Daddy-O ! And then of course there's Belly, fronted by Tanya Donelly , the so called "poppier" sister ex of angular art rockers Throwing Muses. After playing supporting roles in Throwing Muses and the Breeders, Tanya Donelly proves she's got the vision/songs/smarts to pilot her own vehicle. I added some photos of my copy to this release, and though I'm disappointed in the stark difference of the promotional images versus the actual product, it's still a nice release... Helpful. I recently bought "Star" to finally give them a shot and my expectations were blown away. "keeping it real" is 90's b.s. Star is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band Belly, released on January 25, 1993.

Rock to name but a few. And Belly was never better than with their first album. Hmmm, my copy isn't a digipak but it has the same Rough Trade catalogue number and barcode. The newly remastered version is a treat in terms of sound quality.

At their website the colors are completely different from mine. Their newest (circa 2016) album is good too. Today's top alternative bands by Randi resfield introduced me to this band and green day. Brilliant! Read more. Which isn't to say that there aren't other artists with similar styles of music - there are plenty, trust me - but I've never heard one that hit home for me like Belly.

Still a really nice collection, but anyone looking for the records pictured may be slightly disappointed.
