The things I learned that's worth sharing:  (1) if you're near/at the max # of people for the boat, you'll need to balance weight so the boat operates well (doesn't plow in water), (2) avoid max'g out boat  w/adults...it'll be too heavy & limit mobility of passengers (to keep boat balanced)...which limits fun factor for people, (3) head out WEST of rental place so you can "drift" back/more calmly boat back east to the rental place (we did the opposite & on our return, we spent too much time w/a heavy boat crashing small waves heading west to rental place). After receiving instructions upon arrival, including navigating the buoys, we headed out, only to discover THERE WAS NOT ONE OTHER PLEASURE CRAFT on the lake.
