One of the greatest albums from 1992 and in Hip Hop history, repackaged in an essential deluxe edition, 2 CD's, a 20 page booklet and a poster. Great product though, good value, reliable. 高校時代にHip Hopばかり聴いていた私が、SoulやFunkやJazzを好きになるきっかけになったアーティスト。1992年はヒップホップ全盛期で、沢山の名盤が出たけど、このアルバムはそれらの中でも特にソウルフルである。60年代から70年代のブラックミュージックをPete Rockが上手に調理。さすがSoul Brother Number One! ( Only needed another cardboard inner either side of record... v. Simple. Even with gain to max on my mixer the levels never reach the red.
Highly recommended :) Everything is balanced and the crackles etc that you hear are part of the original samples! Though I've never heard a Pete Rock song I didn't like, almost each of the 16 tracks on "Mecca And The Soul Brother" is simply oustanding.
